Ratsénhaienhs Montour on Bereavement and Special Leave

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke’s Office of the Council of Chiefs wishes to inform the community that Ratsénhaienhs Ross Montour, who is currently on Bereavement Leave until June 1, 2025, has been granted Special Leave effective Monday, June 2, 2025, through Friday, June 27, 2025.

The following temporary portfolio assignments are in effect as of Monday, May 26, 2025:

  • Environment (Lead): Ratsénhaienhs Stephen McComber
  • Indigenous Rights & Research (Lead): Ratsénhaienhs David Diabo

We offer support to Ratsénhaienhs Montour and his family as they navigate this time of mourning and healing.

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Tsi Na’teiontenonhwerá:tons Awenhnísera on Monday, October 12th.

The Waste Management Department will be closed for cardboard drop-offs. Regular household recycling, compost, and special collections pickup will occur as usual. The Transfer Depot will be closed for the holiday.

All essential services will remain in operation.

Regular office business hours will resume on Tuesday, October 13th, at 8:30am.
