Recycling pick-up to begin bi-weekly schedule starting January 2026

Recycling Truck

The Waste Management Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community that, beginning January 2026, recycling collection for all residential areas will move to a bi-weekly schedule (every two weeks).

The bi-weekly recycling collection schedule can be found at www.kahnawake.com/waste-management.

This change is part of the Modernization Recycling Collection Initiative introduced by Eco-Entreprises and aims to be more cost-effective, fuel-efficient, and environmentally friendly.

Households that produce a higher amount of recyclables and require an additional blue bin, or those seeking more information about these changes, are encouraged to contact the Kahnawà:ke Waste Management Department at 450-632-4321.

Please note that special collections and compost will remain a weekly collection.

Niawenhkó:wa/Thank you for your cooperation.
