REMINDER – January Community Meeting tomorrow

Public Service Announcement

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to remind the community that the first Community Meeting of 2025 will be taking place tomorrow, Wednesday, January 29th, at the Golden Age Club.

Agenda items include:

  • Kahnawà:ke/Québec Relations Memorandum of Understanding update
  • Housing update
  • Governance Document review
  • Public Safety update
  • Open Discussion

Chief Peacekeeper Dwayne Zacharie, originally announced to be present for the Public Safety update, will be unable to attend due to a prior commitment.

Please note the new times for Community Meetings, which will now be from 6pm – 9pm. Also, the Golden Age Club has been secured for all monthly meetings in 2025.

As is customary, participants are asked always to remain respectful.

Monday, June 22nd, 2026

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Orange Shirt Day office closure

Wednesday, September 30, 2026

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Orange Shirt Day on Wednesday, September 30th.

Regular household Recycling pickup service and Compost collection will continue as usual. Please have your bins curbside by 7am. The Transfer Depot will be closed.

As the Town Garage will be closed, all cardboard drop-offs will be postponed to Thursday, October 1st.

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Thursday, October 1st, at 8:30am.
