REMINDER – Victims’ Rights & Remedies Community Information Session this Tuesday

Public Service Announcement

The Justice Services Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke reminds community members, frontline workers, and staff of Kahnawà:ke organizations about the upcoming Victims of Crime Workshop, hosted by Ionkwatahónhsate Victims Services. The session, titled “Victims’ Rights & Remedies,” will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 10am to 11am via Microsoft Teams.

Presented by Rita Lamolinara and Shreya Virani from the Canadian Resource Centre for Victims of Crime (CRCVC), this workshop is made possible through funding from Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Understanding victim rights in Canada
  • Highlighting services offered by CRCVC
  • Strategies for empowering victims of crime
  • Addressing systemic challenges to justice

Registration is required. A Microsoft Teams link will be provided upon registration.

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Waste Management services are as follows:

  • There will be NO Recycling and Compost collection
  • No cardboard drop offs
  • The Transfer Depot will be closed – regular Transfer Depot hours resume on Saturday, July 4th
  • Household Garbage collection will continue as usual

 

All essential services will remain in operation.

Regular business hours will resume at 8:30am on Monday, July 6th.
