The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that maintenance work at the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC) retention pond will require a partial closure of River Road between the Town Garage and the Town Rink. Work begins on Monday, April 28th, through Wednesday, April 30th, from 7am to 3pm each day.
The SLSMC’s local contractor will be installing jersey barriers and other safety elements around the retention pond for additional safety.
Please note, that a part of the recreational path will also be closed.
A detour will be in place (see map below) and flagmen will be in place to assist with traffic and safety.
The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints, or work progression.
