The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to advise the community that work on the lift bridge over the seaway will require two road closures to carry out maintenance work.
The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation will be on the Territory today, Tuesday, October 29th and Thursday, October 31st to install additional counterbalance weights to the bridge. Two cranes will be used for this work. The cranes will be positioned on both sides of the train bridge. The road under the lift bridge, adjacent to the Services Complex and part of the Seaway Road on the North Wall (see map below) will be closed both days, from 7am until 5pm.
The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints, or work progression.
