The Emergency Management Office of the Public Safety Division (PSD) wishes to inform the community that a one-day Fire Prevention course will be offered on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 9am to 5pm, downstairs at the Mohawk Legion Hall.
This free course is presented by Société de protection des forêts contre le feu (SOPFEU) and offered to all Kahnawa’kehró:non and Tioweró:ton Cabin owners, but spots are limited. SOPFEU is a non-profit organization established under Part III of the Companies Act to protect forests, communities, and critical infrastructure from wildfires, while ensuring the sustainability of forested areas. It was created in 1994 through a partnership between the Gouvernement du Québec and the forestry industry to serve as the government’s operational arm in wildfire prevention, detection, and suppression.
