Spring Community Meeting agenda announced

Public Service Announcement

The Office of the Council of Chiefs wishes to inform Kahnawa’kehró:non of the agenda for the upcoming Spring Community Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 7-10pm at the Golden Age Club.

The agenda is as follows:

  • Land Allotments
  • Update: Signing of the Kahnawà:ke-Canada Relations Memorandum of Understanding
  • Update: Signing of Hertel Hydro Line Agreement with Hydro-Quebec
  • Update: Public Safety / Kahnawà:ke Peacekeepers Highway Patrol Division
  • Open Discussion

Additionally, a second Community Engagement Kiosk will be held in the Services Complex Lobby on Friday, May 17, from 11am-2pm.

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Labor Day office closure

Monday, September 7, 2026

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost Collection: Will continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer Depot: CLOSED for the day
  • Town Garage: CLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
