The Public Safety Division provides information on the new emergency alert siren in the Tioweró:ton Territory. The siren will alert cabin owners and visitors when an evacuation is required and will help reach more than 400 cabins, including areas with limited cell service. The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Tsi Na’teiontenonhwerá:tons Awenhnísera on Monday, October 12th.
The Waste Management Department will be closed for cardboard drop-offs. Regular household recycling, compost, and special collections pickup will occur as usual. The Transfer Depot will be closed for the holiday.
All essential services will remain in operation.
