Water, Sewer & Drainage line replacement on OCR, Kirby and Delisle Roads

The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community about upcoming infrastructure work along Old Chateauguay Road (OCR), Kirby Road, and Delisle Road. This work represents Phase 2 of the project, which began last year and started this week with the installation of a temporary drinking water line. Roadway construction is scheduled to begin the week of May 4, 2026.

Work will be completed in phases beginning on May 4, 2026, with construction starting simultaneously on Old Chateauguay Road (OCR) and Kirby Road. Kirby Road is scheduled to run from May 4 until approximately the week of July 13, 2026. Work on OCR will also begin on May 4, progressing toward the intersection at Delisle Road. Once crews reach the Delisle intersection, construction will shift to Delisle Road, which will be fully completed before returning to OCR to finalize the remaining work. The overall project is expected to conclude around the week of October 5, 2026.

This project includes replacing existing water and sanitary sewer lines, as well as portions of the storm drainage system. A new bike path will be added along OCR, and new curbs will be installed on Delisle Road. Once all underground infrastructures and structural work are complete, the roadway will be resurfaced with new asphalt.

Residents in the area may experience temporary inconveniences such as water service interruptions, dust and noise from construction, detours, and short-term road closures. Signage will be installed to clearly mark construction zones and ensure public safety. Please note that parking will be restricted within active work areas, and access to driveways may be temporarily limited.

The community will be notified in advance of any scheduled road closures. Any private property affected by the work (e.g., driveways, walkways, hedges, or fences) will be repaired or restored before the project is completed. Your patience throughout this project is greatly appreciated. Please contact the Technical Services Office at 450-635-1016 if further information is required.
