The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) wishes to inform the community of a temporary closure of the Tekakwitha Island bike path this weekend, Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th, from 7am to 7pm each day.
The closure will affect the section from the west end of the powwow grounds to the west side of the linear pond area. The access road leading to the construction zone will also be closed.
This closure is necessary to ensure public safety during ongoing boulder removal operations in the bay. KEPO will be supervising the work throughout the weekend. The removal is part of an initiative to improve water flow and reduce stagnation in the area. Restricted use of the bike path will resume on Monday, September 15th.
KEPO thanks the community for its continued patience and cooperation during these important environmental works.
For questions, comments, or concerns, please contact KEPO at 450-635-0600 or EnvironmentProtection@mck.ca.
