Hearing dates announced for Kahnawake Justice Act - S-2 laws

The Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to announce the dates of two upcoming Community Consultations.

The First Hearing of the proposed Kahnaw�:ke law to counter Canada�s S-2 (�Matrimonial Real Interests�) law will be held on Tuesday, 7 Tsothohrk�:wa/January 2014.  The First Draft of the proposed law will be presented and discussed at this Community Consultation.

The Second Hearing of the proposed Kahnaw�:ke Justice Act will be held on Tuesday, 21 Tsothohrk�:wa/January 2014.  This Community Consultation will entail the review of the Second Draft of the proposed law.

Announcements regarding public viewing of both proposed laws will be made in a timely manner. These documents will be made available before the hearings are held.

Both meetings will be held at the Karonhian�nhnha School gymnasium from 6pm to 8:30pm, as has been standard practice.
