Chiefs Picnic in the Park this Thursday

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to remind community members that they are invited to attend the �Picnic in the Park� from 12 noon to 4pm this Thursday at the Splash Pad Recreation Park.

The event has been created as a means of community engagement between Chief & Council and Kahnawa�kehr�:non in a non-formal setting. Lunch and beverages will be served. There will be music, games and prizes for the kids.

�Last year�s event had a great turnout, so we�re hoping for another successful day,� said Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton. �Many, if not most, people are not comfortable speaking at Community meetings or visiting the chiefs at their offices.  So just show up, have some lunch and speak to the chief of your choice to talk about what�s important to you � it�s that simple.�

Should the weather be uncooperative, the event will take place inside the Golden Age Club.
