The Communications Unit of the MCK began broadcasting KTV in November of 2001 on Kahnawá:ke’s local cable station, Paulcomm channel 3, and was the first regularly scheduled program to utilize the local TV station. The show still broadcasts on Paulcomm but is now on CKER Channel 3.

MCK Communications created the program as a response to a management challenge to come up with ways to better serve the public and, as such, KTV has become an important tool for getting the MCK’s messages out to the community. Besides the obvious political issues, the program also focuses on the MCK’s internal operations as well as community events and other stories of general interest to the community. Beside the core group of Communications staff, a sizeable number of other staff and even community members have helped with the program, making it a real team effort.

KTV has went through several changes since inception. The latest, are the name change to Kahnawake TV and the online broadcasting on Youtube. The entire archive can be found online at kahnawaketv.com and a few of the most recent videos can be watched below:
