Call Out for Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission Members

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is seeking two (2) additional individuals to serve on the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission (KGC).

The KGC is responsible for regulating, enforcing, and administering the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Law and Regulations. In accordance with the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Law, applicants must:

  • Be registered on the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Registry;
  • Be at least 18 years of age;
  • Have no financial interest in, or management responsibility for, any gaming or gaming-related establishment within the Territory; and
  • Not have been convicted of an indictable offence, unless a full pardon has been granted.

Experience in regulatory matters or service on boards, commissions, or similar bodies is considered an asset. Given the complex nature of the role, candidates must be willing to participate in training and demonstrate the ability to learn and apply basic principles of administrative law.

Applicants must also possess strong written communication skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Law and Regulations.

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost CollectionWill continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
