Low Waste Market returns Sunday, September 15th

Public Service Announcement

The Waste Management Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake is excited to announce the return of the Low Waste Market on Sunday, September 15th, from 10am to 3pm at the Knights of Columbus.

This eco-friendly event will feature a variety of zero-waste activities, including stop-and-swap tables, informational booths, and local craft vendors. Attendees are encouraged to bring reusable bags to fill with any household items, clothing, and books available. A reminder that all the items on the table are free.

For early donation drop-offs, items can be delivered to the town garage between September 9th and 12th by contacting Iotshatena:wi Reed at the Waste Management Department at 450-632-4321. Please ensure that all donated items are clean. Note that toys and electronics will not be accepted.

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost CollectionWill continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
