Director of Asset Management secures new position
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) announces that Kanento Patton will be departing the position of Director of Asset Management, as he secured the role of Facility Manager for the new Kahnawà:ke Multi-Purpose Building – Kanatahkwèn:ke.
Patton began his MCK tenure in 1996 where he served as a summer student with the Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office. Just over a decade later he returned to join the janitorial staff from 2007 to 2009. He transitioned to the Office/Building Manager with the Administration Unit, a position he held until September 2014. That year, he was promoted to Director, a position he has held since.
Patton was key in managing the strategic, financial and operational performance of the MCK’s assets, including infrastructure, acquisitions, leasing, and property management. Notably, he led the coordination and effective dismantling of the former Cultural Center building and Kahnawà:ke Library.
“Kanento was a key player in managing and maintaining the many assets of the organization,” said Interim Executive Director Dawn Marquis-Deere. “Managing the day-to-day operations, ensuring the safety, security and well-being of our community buildings, and overseeing our fleet. We are grateful for the expertise, care, and dedication he has provided.”
Patton begins his new position on April 1, 2026.
