The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise community members that several provincial and utility‑based programs are available to help homeowners upgrade heating systems and other energy‑efficient equipment, including heat pumps. Program deadlines and requirements vary, and members are encouraged to review details carefully before starting any work.

Chauffez vert (Government of Québec) is a provincial program that provides financial assistance to homeowners replacing oil or propane heating systems with electric or renewable energy alternatives. This program is scheduled to end on March 31, 2026. To be eligible, all work must be completed and the application submitted before this date. More information is available at: https://www.quebec.ca/en/housing-territory/heating-energy-consumption/financial-assistance-retrofits/chauffez-vert-oil-propane

Other provincial programs, such as Éconologis, Rénoclimat, and Novoclimat, may also be available. These programs are not managed by Hydro‑Québec and each has its own eligibility criteria and timelines. Information can be found at the same Québec government link above.

The LogisVert Program, administered by Hydro‑Québec, offers financial assistance for various energy‑efficient measures, including heat pumps. Applications can be submitted online or by phone at 1‑833‑396‑1888, Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm.

Applicants should be prepared to provide installation details, their Hydro‑Québec customer number, address, and supporting documents such as invoices, proof of property, and a photo of the new installation. More information about LogisVert, including the heat pump program, is available at: https://www.hydroquebec.com/residential/energy-wise/financial-assistance/logisvert/residential.html

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke encourages community members considering home energy upgrades to plan ahead, particularly for programs with firm end dates, and to contact program administrators directly for the most up‑to‑date information.
