The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) Investment and Revenue Committee wishes to inform the community that it is pleased to share the annual performance results for the Kahnawà:ke Sovereign Wealth Fund (KSWF) for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026.
As of March 31st, 2026, the KSWF holds a total balance of $40.43 million, showing a gain of $3.1 million over the past year. This represents a 8.33% return on the fund’s opening balance of $37.32 million and a total gain of $7.3 million on the starting amount of $33 million. To achieve the vision of the KSWF, an annual target return of 7% was set and once again surpassed.
“The Kahnawà:ke Sovereign Wealth Fund is not just a financial investment, it is an important piece of our political priority for Financial and Economic Independence,” said Ratsénhaienhs Paul Rice. “The KSWF has the potential to provide long term sustainable dividends and is an investment into our future generations.”
The KSWF is a diversified, balanced portfolio structured to grow steadily over the long term while minimizing risk. The fund is primarily invested in public markets (40% equity and 40% fixed income), with the remaining 20% committed to alternative investments—including direct business ventures.
The KSWF is currently held directly by the MCK and divided into two portfolios: a public securities portfolio and an alternatives investment portfolio. The public securities portion of the fund continues to be managed by Canaccord and Giverny.
Notably, the Des Cultures Wind Farm significantly outperformed expectations, contributing a $2.28 million dividend—exceeding original Projections.
