The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is pleased to announce that two (2) executive positions have been filled: Executive Operations Officer (EOO) and Executive Infrastructure Officer (EIO).
Mr. Chris Stacey has been selected as the MCK’s Executive Infrastructure Officer. He will be responsible for overseeing the direction, development, and effectiveness of several MCK units, including Lands, Public Works, Capital, and the Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office. The EIO also ensures proper management of operations under his direction in the areas of construction, maintenance, infrastructure planning, and meeting the ever-changing needs of the community.
Mr. Stacey grew up in the community and attended George Brown College. He graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Building Science and Project Management. Since then, he has worked in the field of development and construction in Ottawa and Toronto. He officially begins his duties on October 3, 2022
As previously announced, current Ratsénhaienhs Alan John Rice was selected as the successful candidate for the position of Executive Operations Officer. He will begin his new duties on October 17, 2022. As such, Mr. Rice will be stepping down as Ratsénhaienhs to take on this new position.
Under the direction of the Executive Director of the MCK, the new EOO will ensure collaboration between the units under his supervision, which includes Client-Based Services, the Kahnawake Labor Office, Housing, and Sports & Recreation. These four units are client-facing functions of the organization, and it is the responsibility of the EOO to ensure these areas are operating effectively and efficiently.
Mr. Rice attended Bishops University and earned his Bachelor of Arts (Majoring in History) in 2012. Prior to being elected to public office, he served as General Manager of the Office of the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry. He brings valuable skillsets and experiences in administration and governance to the position.
