About Us

The primary goal of the Public Works Unit is to offer secure and dependable infrastructure, improve residents’ quality of life, and support the community’s sustainable development through the specified domains and functions.

Departments & Services

Infrastructure Operations and Maintenance

Lift stations, drainage systems, and sewer systems are regularly inspected, repaired, and maintained to ensure safe potable water and treated effluent. Remedial measures are also provided for well and septic systems to maintain functionality and safety.

Waste Management

The Waste Management Department comprises recycling, the transfer depot, and composting operations. It oversees waste collection and provides education to promote sustainable waste management practices for a clean and healthy environment.

Roads/Highway Department

Public Works is committed to keeping our roads and highways safe and well-maintained year-round. We also take pride in caring for all community green spaces. We are always ready to assist the public whenever needed.

Daily Transportation Management

School Bus Services are planned, designed, and managed to prioritize safety and accessibility. It is coordinated closely with the Kahnawà:ke Education Center administration and adheres to the Daily Transportation policy.
