The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that the Ratitsénhaienhs met in-person today with the Federal Minister of Indigenous Services, Mandy Gull-Masty. This meeting marked the first official engagement between the Council and the Minister of Indigenous Services.
Discussions focused on several key priority issues, including the Kahnawà:ke-Canada Relations membership registration table, an update on the Additions to Reserve (ATR) process for 162 acres across two lots located in St. Remi and St. Isidore, and Jordan’s Principle reimbursement costs.
Following the meeting, Minister Gull Masty was provided with a brief tour of the community. The MCK anticipates that further meetings and discussions will take place as these matters continue to advance.
