In this update, Ietsénhaienhs Melanie Morrison shares recent work on MMIWG2S+ advocacy, including participation in National discussions focused on advancing the Calls for Justice and improving support for Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people. The update also highlights ongoing heritage initiatives, including work on artifact repatriation and progress on the community museum project, with construction and installation continuing toward an anticipated opening later this year.

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Tsi Na’teiontenonhwerá:tons Awenhnísera on Monday, October 12th.
The Waste Management Department will be closed for cardboard drop-offs. Regular household recycling, compost, and special collections pickup will occur as usual. The Transfer Depot will be closed for the holiday.
All essential services will remain in operation.
