The individuals and groups listed above have successfully passed the pre-eligibility screening conducted earlier this year, meeting the basic requirements for a Dispensary Licence. Now, each application undergoes a rigorous review, including detailed assessments to ensure compliance with the Kahnawà:ke Cannabis Control Law and its regulations. This review addresses public safety, community well-being, business practices, and adherence to all legal standards.
A key part of the evaluation involves engaging residents within a 300-meter radius of each proposed dispensary location. This allows those directly affected to provide input, express concerns, and offer feedback on the site. Although community engagement has not begun yet, once initiated, KCCB members will conduct in-person consultations with local residents to ensure meaningful participation. The KCCB will issue a press release to inform the community about how and when to participate.
This consultation process for residents within 300 meters is required under sections 31(e) and 32 of the Regulation Concerning Dispensaries and Dispensary Licences. The KCCB remains committed to a transparent and thorough review, ensuring approved dispensaries comply with all laws and regulations.
