Waste Management Department

Transfer Depot Hours
8am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday

The facility is for community-use only and not intended for contractors/businesses.

Items Accepted:

  • Tire Recycling - all vehicle, light weight truck tires and factory made studded tires at no charge
    Do not accept: Semi-truck or Tractor tires, Tires with Rims,Home made studded tires with screws, Tires that have been cut in half for rim removal
  • Metal Recycling – all shapes and sizes of metal objects, including but not limited to appliances, bicycles, metal tools, nails, car parts, fencing.
  • Used Motor Oil Recycling – also including aerosol lubricants (ie. WD-40, Jig-a-loo…), aerosol brake cleaners, used motor oil filters, antifreeze, and empty oil containers
  • Paint Recycling –primers and paints, lacquer, aluminum paints, metal & rust paints, spray paints, oil based paints, water based paints, wood and masonry protectors, varnishes and shellac, and empty containers.
    Do not accept: Industrial, road sign or automotive paints, cleaners, thinners, solvents, or artistic paints, un-marked or un-labelled containers.
  • Fluorescent Bulbs – lighting that contains mercury (Hg)
  • Used Battery Recycling – All battery types including car batteries, Please bag batteries
  • Used Liquid Cooking Oil Recycling
  • Household Hazardous Waste Disposal - Leftover household products that contain corrosive, toxic, ignitable, or reactive ingredients are considered to be household hazardous waste (HHW).

  • Construction / Demolition waste disposal – from minor residential renovations / demolition, and can include wood products, gypsum, brick, and roofing shingles
    Brush and Tree Disposal -
    Limited composting – leaves, grass, pumpkins, hay bales
  • Electronics Recycling, Large furniture (Break down large items if possible)

Christmas Tree Bin available during the month of January

Items Not Accepted:

  • Household Waste – household waste is not accepted at the Transfer Depot – Residential Pickup
  • Concrete, brick, cinderblocks – Melimax Chateauguay – 514-875-6862
  • Gas cylinders (BBQ, Propane tanks)
