Sanitary sewer inspection

The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Can-Explore Inc. will be conducting a sanitary sewer inspection in the designated areas shown on the map.

As part of this inspection, certain sections may require cleaning using high-pressure water. This determination will be made following the initial assessment. To minimize the risk of sewage backup into homes, residents are strongly advised to ensure that a functioning backwater check valve is installed. Those who are unsure whether they have a functioning check valve are encouraged to consult a licensed plumber.

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 29th, and is expected to continue for at least one week, weather permitting. Appropriate traffic control measures will be implemented, and every effort will be made to limit road closures and disruptions.

The MCK appreciates the community’s patience and understanding throughout the duration of this project and apologizes for any temporary inconvenience it may cause.

For further information, please contact the Technical Services Office at 450-635-1016.

Please note that all scheduled works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints, or the progression of the inspection.
