Policy Development Department

Under the direction and guidance of the Lands Unit Directorate, the Policy Development Department develops Lands Unit policies through collaboration with Community Members, Land Unit Managers and Coordinators, as well as other Departments, Units, and Organizations within Kahnawá:ke.  The Department develops and maintains a resource network to support on-going review of policies, position papers, agreements, laws and other related documents.  The Department provides assistance in the planning, organization, and development of various projects and workshops.  The Department serves as an advisor and provides information to the Lands Directorate.

The Policy Development Department is located in the former Ross residence adjacent to the Lands Unit main building across from the Kahnawá:ke Youth Center.
